Facilities and Hires
The Barbican Theatre is a vibrant and creative venue located in the heart of historic Barbican in Plymouth. The building houses a well equipped auditorium which seats up to 140, a bright rehearsal studio and an intimate cafe bar.
All spaces are available to hire throughout the year and we can cater for a variety of purposes from small scale theatre, dance productions and conferences to award ceremonies and drinks receptions, from formal business meetings to team away days and training.

Auditorium
The auditorium has 107/140 seats and a 10.20m width x 8.90m depth stage with semi-sprung floor, a flexible lighting rig, sound system and projection capability. The auditorium can be used for:
- Performances
- Rehearsals
- Conferences
- Events
- Training
- Classes/workshops
- Award ceremonies
- Presentation
- Film screenings/film-making
Studio/Rehearsal Space
The studio is 11m x 5.5m with mirrored wall, ballet bar, sound system and projection capability. The room is versatile and can be set up in formats such as theatre style (up to 50 seats*), boardroom style, workshop etc. The studio can be used for:
- Meetings
- Away Days
- Classes/workshops
- Rehearsals
* Extra seats need to be hired and will incur an additional charge

B-bar
The B-bar is Plymouth's most theatrical watering hole offering Thai noodles, world music, comedy, world beers and free wi-fi - all in a velvet draped cafe bar atmosphere.
