Edinburgh Visit: 14th August 2007
3 members of PiP went to the Edinburgh festival to watch different genres of theatre. One of the members of PiP said this about the trip “The three days were extremely busy-walking all over Edinburgh from one show to the next, causing frustration as most shows to see for our criteria were at 3pm, but it was defiantly interesting worthwhile trip, opening eyes to types of performance, styles and levels of professionalism. If only we could have stayed a little longer”-Liz Eustace, PiP member 2007

Fuel gig: 25th February 2008

A gig was held in Fuel, North Hill for the Launch night of PiP Plymouth Young Promoters. The gig was headlined by young musicians The Spinlords of Spintania and Rory Gilmore.  The event was organised, marketed and fund raised by the members of the PiP team.  The gig can be seen on our facebook page and on you tube.

One Small Step...One Giant Leap July 24th-1st August 2008

One small Step...One Giant Leap was the Barbican Theatre’s summer project. The production was performed at Plymouth’s Royal William Yard. The company was made up of emerging young practitioners, undergraduates, young people and professional artists. PiP role within the production involved guerrilla marketing, where members dressed up in the costumes of the performance and went to schools and through the city centre flyering for the event. This clearly worked as the show soon sold out!

Stoke Dameral

PiP worked with a group of young people and teachers at Stoke Dameral Secondary school. PiP acted as a mentor for the young people by teaching them how to run their own event in a professional way, this includes how to write press releases, helping the young people stage their own marketing stunts and booking venues and for example bands to come and perform at gigs. The group eventually organised their own music event called the ‘Devonport Underground’.

Red Ladder-Forgotten Things

PiP worked in partnership with the Barbican Theatre to bring Red Ladders new production ‘Forgotten Things’. PiP’s role was to help sell the show and also promote a workshop around the issues that are raised in the performance. PiP targeted young people at GCSE & A-level for this particular performance as it was a piece targeted and teenagers in that age range.

Training Opportunities

PiP also offers training/shadowing opportunities in different areas such as Marketing, Press, Technical, Box office andDesign
