And if that’s not enough they then get to appear on stage as part of the incredible Fagin’s Twist performance!”.
Fagin’s Twist is the first major production and UK tour by Avant Garde Dance Company since their highly successful music-inspired dance work The Black Album in 2012. Their performance at Barbican Theatre on 28 October is the final date in their UK tour.

Led by Artistic Director, Tony Adigun, Fagin’s Twist is an ambitious reimagining of Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. Taking the classic piece of literature as its starting point, Fagin’s Twist presents an evocative story of Fagin’s youth, corrupted by greed and worn down by poverty. Tony Adigun has directed and worked with a number of high profile artists including Cheryl Cole, Usher, Mel B, Janet Jackson and the late Whitney Houston, and adds a twist to Dickens’ classic to create a poignant, coming-of-age dance drama which draws parallels between Victorian London and the modern society we inhabit.
Tony Adigun explains why he decided to create this show;
“I have always been excited by the idea of retelling a popular tale. I wanted to add a mischievous twist that would play with, and challenge audiences’ perspectives of a much loved classic.”
Tickets for Avant Garde Dance’s performance of Fagin’s Twist at 7:30pm on Friday 28 October are £14 full and £11 concession (under 16s, students, disabled and over 60s) and can be bought 24 hours a day atwww.barbicantheatre.co.uk/
