The way I see things, everyone is disabled, no-one’s perfect. Some people’s disabilities are on the inside. People only discriminate against people  who have a disability that is easily noticeable. I’ve been discriminated against for most of my life.

I did my bronze Arts Award though the National Children’s Home and made two films about disability. I acted in both of them. After I got my bronze, I didn’t want to stop, I wanted to move forward and this is how I got involved with the Barbican Theatre.

I’ve enjoyed theatre ever since I started here, I’ve always liked acting, I’ve always liked being on film. I’m a get-up-and-go type of person. Doing these things makes me proud of myself.

I have now received my Gold Arts Award with the support of the staff at the Barbican Theatre.
