Something Big Is Coming to the Quad Theatre This Summer…

We’ve been keeping a little secret.

This summer, we’re planning something new, something bold - and something we hope will become a highlight for Plymouth and the wider South West. For the first time, we’re working with the Quad Theatre and the Marjon campus to bring a brand-new summer festival to life.

We’re not ready to reveal the full line-up just yet (we know - tease!), but we are ready to share why we’re so excited.

Why a Summer Festival?

Over the past year, we’ve been listening - to audiences, artists, students, families and our wider communities. What keeps coming up is a desire for more events that feel joyful, social, surprising and accessible. Spaces where people can come together, discover something new, and celebrate what makes our city so creative.

The Quad Theatre and Marjon campus are the perfect backdrop for that. Beautiful spaces, room to breathe, and the chance to build something that feels truly… Plymouth.

What You Can Expect (Without Giving Too Much Away)

Think sun-drenched days and buzzing evenings. Music, theatre, comedy, workshops, pop-ups, unexpected moments, and the kind of atmosphere you remember long after summer ends.

We’re building a festival that feels welcoming, playful, and full of discovery. Something for families, for students, for the creative community - and for anyone who wants a reason to smile in the sunshine.

Keeping It Accessible

Because Barbican Theatre Plymouth is a charity, accessibility really matters to us. From the very start, we’ve been thinking carefully about ticket prices - making sure the festival feels great value, without pricing people out.

We’re currently planning ticket prices of around £30 per day for adults, with discounts for under-18s and good-value 2-day and 3-day passes for those who want to make a weekend of it. Our aim is simple: big summer energy, high-quality artists, and prices that feel fair and doable.

We’ll share full details once everything’s confirmed.

You Can Help Shape It

Before we announce our headliners or drop the full programme, we want to invite you into the journey.

👉 Register your interest now to be the first to hear updates, get early access to tickets, and help shape what this festival becomes.

We want to create something that feels right for Plymouth — so your voice really matters at this stage.

Let’s build something new together.

This is just the beginning, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Keep your eyes peeled, tell your friends, and sign up if you’re curious.

Here’s to a summer worth waiting for.
