Together, we will create a vibrant and inclusive creative hub where everyone feels welcome, valued, and inspired.

Barbican Theatre Plymouth is a values-led charity committed to inclusivity, creativity and community impact. Established in 1980, we exist to nurture talent, amplify underrepresented voices, and deliver socially-engaged, high-quality creative experiences. Our work empowers emerging and early-career artists, as well as young people in Plymouth and beyond, through skills development, cultural participation, and ambitious new opportunities.

Our Mission

Creating a Vibrant and Inclusive Creative Hub

We exist to provide a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space for people to engage with the arts, whether as audiences, participants, or creators. Our mission is to meet people where they are, offering unbiased support and removing barriers so that everyone has the opportunity to access enriching, memorable experiences. From our theatre spaces in Plymouth to outreach work in the community, we are dedicated to making creativity available to all.
