Supporting the next generation of South West creatives
Pathways is our next step in supporting the South West’s most exciting creatives. Building on the success of Rebels Young Company, this programme offers a clear, sustainable, and people-focused route for creatives to grow, experiment, and bring bold new work to life.
Through a flexible, multi-strand approach, Pathways meets creatives wherever they are in their journey – whether they’re just starting a project or ready to take it further. It provides practical support, mentorship, and opportunities to reach bigger audiences, helping artists develop the skills, confidence, and networks they need for long-term careers in the arts.
Pathways is about creating space for locally made work to thrive. It’s ambitious, achievable, and designed to ensure every artist has the tools and guidance to make work that excites, challenges, and inspires.
60-Minute Creative & Career Conversations
Mentoring for your next artistic or professional step
Available year-round • In-person or online
We’re opening our doors and inviting you in. Whether you’re shaping a new creative idea, facing a challenge or planning your next career move, our team is here to listen, guide and support. We believe great work begins with real conversation and collaborative thinking — so let’s talk.
Quarterly Scratch Nights • New Work, New Voices
February • May • September • November
4 scratch acts + 1 headline residency each night
Free rehearsal space • 1:1 mentoring • Networking
Scratch Nights are your chance to test out an idea in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Presented quarterly, these nights celebrate new work and new voices from Plymouth and across the South West. Share up to 15 minutes of work-in-progress, receive honest audience feedback, and take meaningful next steps in developing your piece. No matter how early, bold, or unusual your idea is — we want to see it, celebrate it and help it grow.
Next Scratch Night: 20th February
3-Month Creative Residency
Develop your next 30-minute work-in-progress with structure, space, and support.
Quarterly cycles • Weekly rehearsal space • Bi-weekly mentoring • Scratch showcase • Final R&D review
For three months, our building becomes your creative home. The Residency gives you dedicated time, space, and guidance to develop new work — from first ideas to a 30-minute sharing at one of our Scratch Nights.
