Introducing our first Pathways Residency Company - NooN Collective

We’re pleased to announce NooN as our first Pathways Residency company; a three-month period of supported research and development, rehearsal space, and mentoring. During their time with us, NooN will focus on developing a one of their new projects, with early work-in-progress to be shared at our upcoming Scratch Night.

NooN are a cross-disciplinary collective based in South Devon, bringing together dance, costume, music and generative visuals to explore more-than-human narratives. Their first full length performance 'Murmur' exploring mycelium communication, has been performed in the UK and Ireland, quickly establishing a strong following for their work with audiences and promoters. In 2024-25 NooN worked in collaboration with Arnont Nongyao to create performances, installations and participatory activities, as part of a large project inspired by internationally significant cave systems in UNESCO Global Geoparks in the UK, Thailand. Their ongoing digital collaboration is currently exploring the materialities of water, with audiences invited to experience this practice through live experimental performance labs.

The residency will support NooN to R&D their new work (working title ‘Weathering’) exploring how internal and external landscapes are shaped slowly and sometimes imperceptibly over time. The work will explore what it means to evolve and grow at a time of climate collapse and the slow persistent weathering effects from manmade systems of corrosion and power. Ultimately it is about restorative acts of connection and hope. NooN will share elements of the work at the scratch performance on Sat 9 May; and are inviting pro-dancers to join them for workshops and to perform.
